Our Pupil Committees at Uphall are responsive to our School Improvement Plan (SIP) and what we are developing at the time. This session we are looking at school improvement and positive behaviour. We endeavour to ensure that all children have the opportunity to be part of a School Committee, or have a leadership opportunity, every year.
Each stage has responsibility for an aspect of developing the school community:
P1 - Maintaining Front Garden/Bulb Planting
P2 - Mr Blooms Garden/Vegetable Patch
P3 - ECO Warriors
P4 - Working with Middleton Carer Home - Jumping Generations
P5 - UN Rights of the Child/Fair Trade - Friends of Chernobyl
P6 - Sports Leaders/Playground Leaders
P7 - Weekly Broadcast
How Good Is Our School - Pupil Version
Our Head Boy, Reece and Head Girl, Kalley are currently working with the Depute Head Girl, Honey and Depute Head Boy, Joshua to evaluate our school using 'How Good Is Our School - Pupil Edition'. This is a committee which will change and adapt depending on what they find.
As a school we are currently developing our positive behaviour systems and policy. A representative from every class will take the views and ideas of their peers to a committee group who will begin to evaluate and develop the use of Golden Time within the school. Watch this space to see what they have decided to do.
Our Community group have made a fantastic video about our school community which can be viewed below. There is also a handy map to help you find your way around Uphall. They are currently working on our Curriculum Rationale and sharing it through a video.
The Robert Beveridge Memorial Garden Group are very proud to present our new memorial garden. You can see this, and our beautiful plaque presented from the Ancre Somme Association, at the front of the school building. Have a look on Twitter to see our memorial service and the garden taking shape. (November 2018)
Whole School Leadership Opportunities
There are leadership opportunities throughout the year for our children. In Term 4 there will be the opportunity for children to lead through focused leadership activities of their choice.
