This week you will be writing a fact-file about a chosen a chosen artist. You can choose whoever you would like!

Have a look at this WAGOLL, it is a fact-file about the famous Scottish artist Stephen Brown.

What do you notice about it? Can you pick out the key features?

It has a title- can you find it?

Sub-titles- can you identify those?

Facts about his early life- where he was born/where he went to school/his family etc!

Facts about his life as an artist/ what type of art he makes.

Facts about his most famous painting.

A range of sentence openers- can you spot them?

Maths :L.I. To identify 2D shapes

Remind yourself of the names of these 2D shapes (2D means flat). Can you identify their properties (how many sides, how many corners)? Then go on a shape hunt around your house. How many shapes can you find? Can you identify the number of sides and corners for each shape? Can you present this information in a table?

What shapes can you recognise in Kandinsky’s famous painting? Can you find another artist who uses recognisable shapes in their work?
