P2- Friday 29th May
Feliz Viernes P2 (Happy Friday)
School Assembly will be at 10am today. If you have an older sibling in P4-7 you will be able to watch with them through TEAMS.
Well done to everyone who worked out my dream destination is France!
Today we are going to read a story with speech bubbles and some French phrases. Then we are going to continue the story or write our own story using speech bubbles and French/Spanish phrases (or you can write in another language of your choice).
Speech bubble French story Friday
Reading:
- At the start of the story, there is a family with a baby and an older brother and sister. The big sister speaks to the other family. What does she say?
- What is her name?
- The family by the campfire has a Dad, a girl and a boy. The girl replies to Sophie. What does she say? “Hello, I am good, thanks” in French?
- Phoebe then asks Sophie is she has a stick and would like a marshmallow. What does Sophie say in return?
- What do you think might happen next?
Writing:
Speech bubbles are used to show what someone is saying. We don’t need to add ‘she said’ or ‘said Karen’. Practise before you write:
Have a conversation with someone at home. Whatever you say to someone else, imagine putting a big hula hoop around your words. This is your imaginary speech bubble. When you write a story using speech bubbles, you are drawing a bubble around the words your characters say. (One tip I have for you would be to write the words first then draw a bubble around the words so you don’t have to squash all your writing in).
Now that you have read my example story with speech bubbles, please either continue the story or write your own holiday story with your own characters. I’m looking forward to seeing what might happen next to Sophie and Phoebe. Or what characters you might invent! You can write on paper or in your jotter.
Maths – Problem Solving:
Have a lovely weekend and enjoy the sunshine!
